8 week woes

Anna had her least favorite day ever today. Now, granted, she only has 8 weeks for comparison, but Park and I can verify that it was a very bad day indeed. This is the first big vaccine visit. She received Dtap, polio, Hib, pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines, which amounted to one oral vaccine and two injections in each thigh!!! Oh no! The tears were streaming down her face....her first real tears, by the way. Not something mommy and daddy wanted to see. It took some time but eventually we were able to soothe her. There was no cheering her up until after a nap and some milk.

She is sleeping now, and I think mommy has begun to recover from the experience.

Visit from Grandma B

Park's mom was in town from Idaho to meet and spend time her newest grand baby and wee Carter. She took quite a shine to the little girl, and of course, Anna naturally adores her Grandma B. Mama adored the free time, the showers, the outings and just generally getting to function like a normal person!!!! We had the best weather in the history of Atlanta over the past couple of weeks, so getting out for walks and festivals have kept us rather busy. We've also gotten in some very fun cousin-Carter time :)

Carter found Anna's new bonnet quite entertaining, garnering much laugher from his biggest fans.

More from FL trip

Miss Anna got to meet family members and several of our life long friends. She, of course, dazzled with her cuteness. Of course Gramp-Allen had first dibs.
We met my Aunt Linda for lunch, but sadly my Uncle Vic was battling bronchitis and didn't want to expose Anna.

Auntie Lori and Uncle Adam

Auntie Helen

And of course, no trip to Pensacola is complete without a visit with Auntie Rosie!

Park's bday and FL trip

There is so much to catch up on! First, there is this picture, taken a couple of weeks ago. I think it's about the funniest thing I've ever seen:For Park's birthday we had a cookout at our house with all of the usual suspects. Everyone came over, and almost everyone had a kid to bring! My how times have changed.... In any case, Anna and her boyfriend Bennett took this very adorable picture (Anna: "Ew, he's a boy! I don't like boys. Gross." Bennett: "Aw dad, not a girl! Girls have cooties!"): We also spent last week at the beach with my mom, and had a great time there. The weather was not terribly cooperative, but it turned out to be just the low key vacation Park and I needed. We introduced Anna to lots of good friends and family, and ate lots of good food.

Murphy

Murphy, our 20+ pound hunka hunka burnin' love, hovering above a napping Anna. Don't worry.....mama keeps a watchful eye on these moments, but I just couldn't resist the photo op!

One month birthday (two weeks ago)

OK. We are very behind in posting, since Anna is now celebrating her SIX week birthday. But in my defense, I am taking care of a six week old. We've also been in Florida for the past week, which is not terribly conducive to sitting in front of a computer!

The weekend that Miss Anna turned one month, loads of family came to celebrate. OK, they were also spending a little bit of time searching for houses, but we all know they really just came to meet Anna ;) We had Mimi (Anna's great grandmother), Pam and Tom (Anna's great aunt and uncle), Joyce and Guy (Anna's great-great aunt and uncle), Nanette and Jeffrey (Anna's cousins) and naturally Omi and Granp-Allen. How's that for some generational fun!!!
One month!
Having a chat with grampa
Mimi getting a BIG yawn from such a tiny little girl! Joyce and Guy asking Anna about her opinion on the new way that Nanette taught us to cart her around...a lesson that I am very sad to say was not caught on film. But, I'll tell you that Nanette is quite the genius with these kinds of tips!
Mimi and Aunt Pam seeing how we never have any shortage of cuteness around here.

burps!

After some mighty woes during feeding times, we finally took Anna's first bottle break. She took to the bottle like a champ, and has not refused going back to me. Yay! It was so much fun to watch Park get to feed his little girl, and I also finally got to watch her get burped from afar. The face she makes when being burped is absolutely my favorite. OK, yes, I have a lot of favorites, but this is definitely among the top. Oh those cheeks!

Oh, and speaking of cute...Anna and papa watching their first Braves game (first many many many many Braves games).
